Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander National Sorry (Healing) Day

May 26, 2020

26th May – National Sorry (Healing) Day

Each year on May 26th marks National Sorry Day, a day to recognise, reflect and contribute to the healing of The Stolen Generations.

We acknowledge the devastation inflicted upon Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and the current intergenerational trauma as a direct effect of forced removal and assimilation.

We strive to work in equality, empower and walk forward together towards reconciliation.

UMFC acknowledges the First Peoples of Australia as the traditional custodians of the land on which we work. We acknowledge their culture is a living one, which relates to their ongoing connection to all things living and non-living on land, sea and sky. We pay our respect to their elders past and present. May our children of today lead us to a better tomorrow.
