National Epilepsy Awareness Day

March 26, 2016

26th March – National Epilepsy Awareness Day

What is epilepsy?

Epilepsy is a common brain disorder which takes the form of recurring seizures. It is estimated that 10% of the population are at risk of experiencing a seizure during their lifetime and 3-4% will go on to be diagnosed with epilepsy. There are other seizures that are not epileptic – these result from health issues such as diabetes, fever and a range of other health conditions.

UMFC acknowledges the First Peoples of Australia as the traditional custodians of the land on which we work. We acknowledge their culture is a living one, which relates to their ongoing connection to all things living and non-living on land, sea and sky. We pay our respect to their elders past and present. May our children of today lead us to a better tomorrow.
